The City of Toronto defines low-rise condos as any building with 3 or 4 storeys. A Low-rise condo can often be confused with a townhome owing the similar structure that they both possess; However, the difference is that low-rise condos have a shared entrance to the building that is used by all of its residents. There is also a third type known as a hybrid building which can be both a townhome and a low-rise condo. Low-rise condominiums may not be able to provide a luxurious life in the sky, but there are several advantages that can make them worth your investment. Thanks to the lower number of units, they offer a more intimate living experience as compared to the other mid-rise and high-rise developments throughout the city. Another advantage and possibly a lucrative one is that low-rise condos usually have lower maintenance fees as compared to its other counterparts throughout the city. The main reason behind this is the fact the maintenance fee being split is of a smaller building as compared to a high-rise. Although low-rise condos are not that popular in the Downtown Core, there are several others to choose from in the city of Toronto as well as in other cities throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
