Distrikt Trailside Condos

The Distrikt Trailside Condos is a new condominium development coming up 407 Dundas Street West in Oakville, developed by Distrikt Developments. The suburbs in the Greater Toronto Area have been rapidly creating their own bustling downtown cores outside of the Toronto Downtown. Oakville has shown promising results with its continuous ambition to grow and expand as an urban centre. This is easy to see with the new community development which is spearheaded by Distrikt Developments. The Distrikt Trailside Condos will be designed by Kirkor Architect + Planners and will have a wide range of unit types and layouts. This diverse development is the ideal addition to the urbanizing area, and is the perfect investment opportunity in the ever-growing cosmopolitan suburb of Oakville. This new development boasts an expansive 6 acres of land which will feature two towers containing 647 residential units of condos, lofts and towns. The first project comprises of 247 units in 10 storeys along with 36 bac-to-back townhouse units and 17 three-storey townhomes. The other tower will consist of 349 residential units in 10 storeys. These towers will be mixed-use with almost 4,200 square feet of commercial space at the ground level. The ground floor will feature the grand double height lobby ceiling, future café, retail, gallery or studio. The outdoor aesthetics will be modern and designed by Kirkor Architects. With glass paneling and expansive windows along with stunning balconies, this is the perfect addition that Oakville needs. However, its grandiose stature is what will make it stand out among the other structures in the city. These condominiums will feature a 9-feet ceiling while the lower and upper penthouse floors will have 10-feet ceilings. The development will also feature an indoor as well as outdoor amenity space of 15,000 sq. ft equipped with the net generation smart living app called Distrikt AI. The structure has been designed in such a way that it steps down to 8 storeys and then 6 storeys at its north end. This makes it appealing as it breaks up the building to help it look seamless with the additional townhome units. The townhomes unlike the condominium units will have 3 storeys. Residents of this development will have access to the underground parking facility. This luxurious and ambitious project will consist of a total of 753 parking spots. The west tower will have a total of 356 parking spots while the condo building will have 258 and 36 will be allocated for the stacked townhome residents. There will also be an additional 12 parking spaces allocated for retail visitors along with 50 parking spaces for residential visitors.

In addition to that, the waterfront trail also proves as an ideal family adventure while strolling or biking. The Oakville Harbour is a stunning waterfront that brings out a calming and luxurious vibe to the urbanizing city. Oakville however isn’t all about only scenic views. It also has several other local amenities such as the central mall, Oakville Place which is merely 10 minutes from this development. The mall comprises top brands such as H&M, The Bay and Sephora to name a few. It is also home to the fine food grocery market called Pusateri’s. Investors and home buyers shouldn’t waste any more time, as this expansive development is the perfect opportunity. The neighborhood around the Distrikt Trailside Condos has its historical roots as an independent fishing village; however, later in 1962, it was annexed by Oakville. It has become a thriving and beautiful neighborhood today and continues to be identified by its lakefront location. The neighborhood is well connected to the rest of the Greater Toronto Area thanks to several arterial routes as well as public transportation and is also a favorite shopping destination with many dining options. This community was originally founded as a small fishing village and was named after a legendary British Naval hero called Horatio Nelson, who was appointed as the Duke of Bronte by King Ferdinand III of Sicily. One of the main industries of the area was stone-hooking, which was a price of pulling stones out of the shores of Lake Ontario to be used as construction materials. Many such examples of this can still be seen in the neighborhood in several buildings till date. Although the practice of pulling stones from Lake Ontario may not be in practice anymore, the shores of Lake Ontario still continues to be a symbol for the community. Bronte Harbour is an important landmark in the area that sits just north of Bronte Creek’s estuary that unloads into Lake Ontario. Residents and visitors come here to survey the rows of boats that line the shore. The Harbour Banquet and Conference Centre is also located here which is one of the premier venues in the entire Greater Toronto Area. This place offers unobstructed beautiful views of the Lake along with amazing menus with the potential to impress even the poshest visitor. This venue also serves as one of the most popular wedding destinations in the Greater Toronto Area. If you want to try out the cuisine without attending any wedding, you can visit the Compass Restaurant which operates throughout the warmer months. There are other restaurants in the community too such as the Plank Chef Inspired Resto Bar which features delicious food along with a cool vibe owing to its series of aged wooden planks that adorn the interior. The Firehall and Nearby Coach & Four are also some of the other restaurants in the neighborhood with mouth-watering dishes. Detached houses are the most common type in here and account for 65 percent of the total home sales in the area over the past year. This is followed by Condos which are slowly starting to get more attention and account for 22 percent of the total home sales in the area. The average price of a home in this neighborhood was $1,082,259 which was an increase of 22 percent over the last year. This leaves us with an average freehold price of $1,174,754 along with an average condo price of $803,206. The area is equipped with everything you need within walking distance. The Joseph Brant Hospital is the closest in the neighborhood and has gone through a major redevelopment and expansion recently. The upgrades done had included cancer clinic, 9 new operating rooms and an expanded ICO. The Sheridan College is also in close proximity to the neighborhood and is known as one of the best colleges in Canada for artistic learning facilities. When it comes to shopping, the Bronte Road and Lakeshore Road West intersection is considered as the primary commercial district for the neighborhood. Besides this, the neighborhood also has easy access to the South Oakville Centre which features several stores and services.

Transit Option

Located on the north side of Dundas Street West and nestled between George Savage Boulevard and Negayawa Boulevard, this project sits at an incredibly central location within this urban suburb. Dundas Street is one of Oakville’s major artery roads and is projected to make use of the upcoming Oakville bus rapid transit service. The transit options from this location varies as you can opt to take the 5 Dundas bus route that takes you to Oakville Station, or simply make the short drive to the central terminal. Oakville in general is served well by major routes, making it a blessing for transportation. It has easy access to the Queen Elizabeth Wat and Highway 407 for trips that go east and west while trips going north and south are taken care by Highway 403. Commuters can also avail the services of the GO Train through the Bronte GO Station and the Oakville GO Station. The latter is just an 11-minute drive away and a doable 30-minute bus ride away from the Distrikt Trailside Condos. Travel is one of the key reasons why Oakville is ideal for young professionals settling down to start a family. The easy access to the city indicates working 9 to 5 in the downtown core and being home for dinner extremely feasible. It will be quite an experience to be working in a career hub like Toronto’s Financial District or Entertainment District and then returning home to a waterfront suburb that provides you with the much-deserved comfort and serenity after a tiresome day amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
